I turned up at Drummonds in plenty of time. Dickie, and Jason were already there.
(i thought i was keen). So we had a bit of a chin wag, obviously about fishing.
This time Dickie had my name on the list as drawing second. When Steve Bee turned
up, i thought about tying him up, so he could'nt jump the queue. But fair play to
him he was well behaved today.So the chains went back in the van. Everybody turned
up in droves, but everybody was on time for the draw. Bri Dix turned up in his
new van, must admit it looked like the pope mobile, but i did'nt tell Brian,
because he was kind of in love with it, and we are here to fish, and not break
hearts. Bless, ain't i an angel. Richard, and Barry who like myself have'nt had
a very good series so far, looked like they had fresh scars on there wrists.
So they need to catch some fish today, or i can definitely see the razors
coming out. Will i commit harry Carry if i draw shite this week. Well no! because
my missus would'nt have any bugger to moan at, would she.

Just one other little thing, if the wanker who ripped my vans side mirror off,
when it was parked outside my house, reads this. Do the decent thing, and buy
one next time, like most of us would. Or better still do everybody a favour,
and slash your wrists, because at the end of the day you are no use to anyone
are you. Now i ain't into muslim law. but we could do with the one, where you
kinda get your hand chopped off if your caught, and if your daft enough to do
it again, well you won't be doing it a third time thats for sure. But then
again thiefs are so stupid that they probably think they got more than two hands.
Okay that's off my chest, so no more moaning, well not until after the match anyway.

THE DRAW.

Again Barry was nominated to draw Dickies peg, so in went is hand, which was
still attached to is new scarred wrist (he he), and out popped peg 8. Now any normal
person would have taken this peg with a smile on there face, but not our Dickie no.
He really did'nt fancy it (strange man). So now the big moment had come, my turn.
I looked at Steve Bee just in case he was fibbing about behaving himself, but no
worries he stayed put. So in went my hand, and out came, wait for it, PEG THIRTEEN.
I kid you not everyone cheered, i must have split my make up, with the grin that
appeared on my face. I kinda floated to my van, in dream land. The far bank at last.
Never mind it being a marathon to get too. I was just happy?. Ain't it funny how
happiness can jump up, and bite you on the arse, more about that later.
Jason next, drew peg 11, he was happy with that, as he has always done well on the
far bank. Terry  who seems to live on either peg 8 or 9, did'nt disappoint,
as he drew peg 9 again.(now i know he lives on those pegs). His travelling partner
in crime Tom drew peg 7 AGAIN!. One of the fliers on the road side. The
other flier peg 6 went to Nick , so he was a happy chappy. Steve Bee drew
peg 2 again, two matches on the trot. Now the last match he was'nt overly happy
about drawing this peg as it had been crap throughout the series.But the fish moved
into the shallows for that match, and he did well off it. So this time i'am pretty
sure he was happy with it. Steve Evans drew peg 3, this fished quite well the
last match also, so he was happy with it.( mind you, like most of us peg 6 or 7,
would have been a lot bleeding nicer). But considering Nick did'nt want to share
his peg with 10 others, we had to do with what we got.(bloody selfish of Nick if
you ask me). Richard drew peg 5, and i'am not sure if he liked it or not, as
like me he has'nt had much luck with the draw. Barry  drew peg 10, and
considering he has had crap draws, he was happy with it. Bri  drew peg 4, and as
he has been quite consistant, no doubt the fish will be in front of him. Not like
Barry who must wear anti-fish deodrant, because wherever he has been the fish have'nt.
Ain't i glad i never drew next to Barry. Andy the series leader drew peg 12, next to me.
Surely when he saw me in the next peg, he must have thought he was up against it.
Mind you if i would have said this to him, i might have beat him, because he
would have spent five hours rolling around laughing. mmmmm, must remember that
for next time.

THE MATCH.

Plummed the pole line up, and found about six feet of water, it was nice, and flat,
at 11 metres. 0.7 Tuff float. 3lb main line, with 1.7lb hook length. Size 18's
kamasan hook. For the feeder rod, i used a small cage feeder, 4lb main line, with
2lb hook length, again with an 18's kamasan hook. Fished at 30 yards. For the feeder
i used chopped worm, with fish meal groundbait. For the pole i fed two balls of
the same groundbait, with half a pot full of chopped worms, and maggots. catipulting
a few maggots every 10 minutes or so.

The whistle for the all in went at 10am, so i fed my pole line, then cast out the feeder.
This peg as had its ups, and downs, with crap weights, and good weights, now i was
pretty confident that i should get a decent weight off this peg, as the fish will be
all over the lake with this weather we have been having. If the the water is cold,
and clear then you won't budge the fish off the deeps, but now its quite warm,
and cloudy, this is the sign for them to be everywhere, (except in front of Barry he he).

So like i said, i was pretty confident they would be here. After about five minutes the
tip moved, and i latched into my first fish, a roach? To win, or do well in the section,
you needed skimmers, so not the start i was after. Eight roach later, i'am not very happy.
I need skimmers. Now being an out, and out pole angler for the last 30 years, this feeder
fishing lark has never been one of my favourites. But for the last year i have been using
the feeder more often, so really i'am still on a learning curve. It was only last month
that Steve Evans showed me how to tie a pasternoster rig properly, as i was getting a
bit peeved with tangles all the time. But fair play since Steve showed me how to do it
properly, touch wood i hav'nt had a problem with tangling. So i stayed on the feeder
for a bit longer, and still had roach problems. The bites were now getting silly,
lightning quick bites, end result, no fish but two chewed up maggots. Sod it, time
for the pole. Double red on the hook, shipped it out, and guess what, a bloody roach
first put in. But at least i was hooking the little so, and so's. I caught a few more
roach, but it was a struggle, as they were'nt coming fast enough to build a weight.

I re-fed the pole line with the cupping kit, and went back out on the feeder, a bite
came about 10 minutes later, resulting in my first skimmer, at last! Another followed
about 10 minutes later, so i was a little happier anyway. Andy on the next peg
was having roach problems too. But at the end he ended up with 24 skimmers on the feeder,
with plenty of roach thrown in as well. After my second skimmer, the roach moved back in.

Caught two on the trot about half ounce apiece, and this time i did say sod it. So back
on the pole i went. I did manage 8 more skimmers, and a few roach before the swim died,
and i never had another bite for the last hour. I ended up with 33 fish for 8lb 5oz's,
not only finishing last in my section, but last out of the 12 anglers. Bril angler ain't I.

Andy on the next peg doubled my weight, so i now know i must be doing something wrong,
maybe i should have stayed on the feeder, like Andy did. He tried the pole but not for long.

Maybe if i fished the feeder throughout the match, maybe i might of had 24 skimmers, and
doubling my weight. But saying that i had 8 skimmers on the pole, to two on the feeder,
i just don't know. Now i know why i like the carp, at least there easier to catch.
Problem is i do like silverfish fishing as well, i suppose i will have to use the feeder
more times than the pole next time, just to see. If there our any kind hearted people out
there gis a clue will ya!. I'am now going to go home, and sulk for three days. Maybe not,
i don't want to get filled in by the wife, know what i mean. Imaging it, next match, it will
be "hello" Steve how did you get that black eye, err! walked into a lampost mate! YEAH right!.

POST MATCH.

Even though Andy weighed in 16lb+ he did'nt fair well, finishing 4th in the section. With
only Dickie, and myself behind him. Dickie also slipping up with a fifth in section. Well
done barry finishing second in the section, maybe its me who wears the anti-fish deodrant
after all. Old Mr squatter on peg 9 finishing third in section, with 17lb+.( Must know every
fish by name in that peg by now). Well done Jason winning the section with over 5lb to spare.
Caught Andy up now mucker!. The two Steve's on pegs 2, and 3 also had roach problems all day.
Pegs 6, and 7 blitzed the top two places in section "A" AGAIN. Well done richard, double figures
this time mate. Well done to Brian as well, only had one flier in this series, but as done well
everytime, well done mate. As for me, well your shite matey, now when you go home tonight,
i want you to write your a shite angler 100 times before beddy byes as your punishment
for being crap. That's it , i ain't going to speak to me no more.

Steve always wanted Jason to have a sex change,

so Jason went to the doctors, and arranged for the

slow process of many operations. Jason told the

doctor he wanted to be called Nelly! The doctor

thought Jason said Nelly the Elephant, so the process

began. Ten ops later, and Jason is totally transformed.

Kinda cute really, just take a look at the last photo

of this post, and see for yourself.

The good news Steve Evans was'nt to upset with

the outcome of the operations, that he as now propossed

Well that was a learning curve for me today, can't blame the draw

on this one. But i refuse to beat myself up over it. My wife does
a good job of that anyway. I shall now go into mourning for 3 days,

RODS, AND REELS.

This weeks match was the 10th match in the winter championship series,
and was held on the Rio Segura at the Eden Cansl stretch.
This championship is a series of 11 matches with the best 8 to count,
the last match to be held at the end of March. The weather again this
week, took its toll on the fishing. Firstly arriving at the river with
2 degree's showing on the car thermometer. The river was running through
at pace, and was up, and coloured. This was draw your peg, and find some
slack water to fish????. Overall there were six blanks, and i several others
nearly increasing these numbers.My first fish was just before 3 o'clock,
(we started at 9). With a second at 3.25 five minutes before the finish.
Paul Baxters only fish came at 3.20."Oh" the joys of fishing in Spain,
in saying that, at least we have fished all through the winter,
whereas in the UK, they have either had to break the ice, or not fish
at all. Roll on the summer.

TOP RODS OF THE DAY.

1st. John (Again i can't believe it) Winstanley. Fishing the feeder using
corn with 3.74 kilo's.

NOTE.
Must go in the pools next time.

2nd. Harold (H) Clarke. Fishing the pole using corn with 3.72 kilo's.

3rd. Derek (The beancounter) Swann. Fishing the pole using Maggot with
2.34 kilo's.

OVERALL STAUS WITH NO DEDUCTIONS.

2nd. Dave Hoare with 71 points.
3rd. Bill Reade with 89 points.

As stated above, the last match is at the end of the month, and so it will be
a close run thing for 1st, and 2nd.

As had been stated before, the Embalse de Pedrera has been filled up with
the road at the back of the broken bridge some 8-10 feet now underwater.

Weather here in England as been picking up the last week or so. So the
fishing should improve.

Permali's winter league this Sunday, on Drummonds. It is the fifth round
already. Does'nt time fly when you are fishing shite. The fish should be
spread all over the lake now, so it should make it more even. But as you
know fishing is a funny old game. Let you know how i get on later.

SUNDAY 14TH MARCH.
LITTLE LAKE NEAR NEWENT GLOS.(can't remember the name of the place).
FISHED 9.30AM TO 3.00PM.

The great thing about this little place, is there are no rules.
You can use any bait, and any method's.You can even use keepnets.
A few of the lads i know mentioned this place to me, and considering
i had nothing on this weekend, i thought i would give it a go.
All it costs is a measley fiver, not going to break the bank.
As the place is run as a guest house, you can have breakfast too.
It even has a bar, not a bad little place, as it is only twenty minutes
from my house.

Dick Lewis, Graham Pugh, and thirteen other lads fished a match at
Twyford Farm, Tewkesbury. On the river Avon. While i was fishing, i
phoned Pughy about 12'oclock and asked him how the match was going, and
he told me it was crap. The river was gin clear!. I was asked to fish
this match, but i ain't that keen on river fishing, so i passed on that.
Dickie phoned me up this evening, and said the match was rubbish.
There was ten blanks out of fifteen anglers. Mark Hewlett winning the
match, with as solitary Chub.He picked up £60. In Dickie's section
Mark was the only angler to catch, so the section winner's money had
to be drawn out of the hat. Ain't i glad i did'nt go. Phew!!!.

I decided yesterday to give this place a try, so i went down to the local
tackle shop, and bought a pint of maggots, as back up if the pellets
did'nt work. Glad i did?. I prepared some liquidised expander pellet,
and mixed it 50/50 with sonu baits method mix, for the groundbait, as
apparently the lake has a good head of Skimmers, and Bream.
Soaked some 4mm skretting pellets, then bagged them up, and put in
fridge overnight. For the hook i pumped 4mm, and 6mm Expanders, again
bagging them, and sticking them in the fridge overnight.

Got out of bed about 6.30am this morning, had my usual mug of tea,
watched the cricket live for a bit, England versus Bangladesh (sad i know),
but i do like watching cricket. Lets face it there ain't nothing else on the
telly that time in the morning. £147 for a tv licence, criminal ain't it.

You think about it, if someone steals your money, in court they are classed
as scum (to right too). But if the council steal from you in the form of poll tax,
the law says thats okay. When you swear an oaf in court, you swear on the bible.
Even though in that bible it states though shalt not steal. I have never seen
in the bible though shall not steal unless it's the Council. Have you. So in fact
your swearing on something in court, that the court does'nt believe in.
Funny old world ain't it. Anyway that's enough politics, (i could write a novel
on what i think of those b-----d's.

Got to the lake this morning, seen the owner, and paid my £5.Took a walk
around the lake, just to have a look see. What i saw was very impressive.
Lovely looking lake, set in the houses grounds. A stream ran the length of
the land, adjacent to the house, and lake. Very picturesque place indeed.
Shame i can't afford something like that. But as the saying goes.
One man's dream, is another man's reality. Unfortunatley i come under the
dream section.

I settled my kit down on a peg halfway up the lake, roughtly the middle
of the Island. Nice sunny day, bit windy though, but it was not cold.
Which was good for my aging bones.Set up a Guru pellet feeder for the
Island. Also set up the pole, and found a nice depth at 7 metre's.
Plummed up for a while, and it was fairly flat all around at that length.
I was told that there is a good head of carp in here also, so i had to set
some stronger pole rigs up on the bank, as my winter fishing has basically
been all silver fishing. So in my box i only have silver fish rigs set up.
I set two top rigs up. One which came straight out of my box. 0.5 float,
shotted with seven number eight stotz. Bulked six inches from the hook.
Main line was 4lb breaking strain, with 2lb hook length. The rig i had to
set up from scratch was basically for if the carp showed up. this rig
was basically the same as the siver set up, the only difference was i used
8lb breaking strain straight through. Both rigs taking a size 18's
Kamasan b611 barbless hook.Even though there are no rules on this lake, i like
to use barbless for the carp. Mainly because the carp have a knack of springing
the hook in the landing net, and its a nightmare trying to get a barbed hook
out of the mesh. The rod line was clipped up just short of the Island.
Filled the Guru feeder with soft 4mm skrettings pellet, with a banded white
chocolate 6mm pellet on the hook. Fed the pole line with two orange sized balls
of groundbait, through the main pole pot top kit, and one pot half full of 4mm
skrettings pellet over the top.

Started on the feeder hoping for a carp off the Island, which never materialized.
But as i was pleasure fishing i stayed on it for an hour.
Changed to the pole with a 6mm expander on the hook. fished this for half an hour
with out a bite. Now i know i was only pleasure fishing, but you still want to
catch, so i was starting to worry just a little. The baiting up i done at the start
was now in the water for an hour, and a half. So being the impatient little bugger
i'am, i decided to pot half a potful of maggots in. Within five minutes i had a
little perch of about four ounces, well beggars can't be chosers, so it will do
for a start. My elastic for my silver rig was number eight hydro, so if any carp
put in an appearance i would at least have a chance, as long as it was'nt to big,
because two pound bottom might be a 'tadge' to light?. My next fish to come was
a nice half pound roach, followed by is brother of the same size. Three fish so
time to feed some more maggots through the toss pot.It was'nt a fish a chuck,
as by this time it was a fish every five to ten minutes, but for pleasure fishing
it was just that, pleasurable. A few five ounce skimmers put in an appearance,
so i was now really enjoying it, without worrying about how the anglers around
me were doing.(mind you i had the lake all to myself today).

Next put in, it happened, YEP! the elastic shot out at a rate of knots. Ten seconds later it
was good-bye hook length.Well as it was a pleasure session, and i never had
another top set up with a silverfish rig on, i just changed to my carp cruncher
with number 16 hi viz elastic. Come on carp break my 8lb straight through if you
can. Out went another pot of maggots with some 4mm pellets. About ten minutes later
the float shot under, and the elastic again shot out at a rate of knots, but
this time i was a tadge more confident. Five minutes later a carp of about
nine pounds was staring at me from the bottom of my landing net, not bad for
my first carp of the year. Potted another half potful of pellets, and maggots,
and waited, to be honest that fish would have done for this pleasure session
as i was happy with it. I did want to catch a bream, as apparently the slabs in
here run quite big. A carp of two pound, and a few more skimmers came to the
net, also a nice Rudd of about a pound put in an appearance, jeez this was fun.
I actually forgot how good pleasure fishing can be. I must admit i did bump a few
small fish, which ain't suprising with this set up. The next time my float
went down i latched into another decent carp. This one obviously thought it
was the middle of June, as it fought like mad. Gave me a few heart pulpatations
i tell you!. But in the net he ended up. Again he weighed about eight to nine pounds.
Starting to enjoy this. Another carp of about four pounds, with a few small skimmers, and
roach came in the last hour, so i thought that will do for today. I probably had
about 25lb of carp, and 15lb of silverfish, so about 40lb for what turned out
to be a very pleasurable day. I weighed in more fish today than the 15 lads who
fished the river, am i complaining, am I &@$%. Well back to reality next week, the
fifth round of our winter league at Drummonds is next Sunday. Hope i enjoy it,
or am i just dreaming, well we will have to wait, and see on that one. Will
i come back, and pleasure fish this lake again, i think so. Wonder what this
place fishes like in summer, can't wait, to give it a go. I will let you know
when i fish it again. The place is to small for matches, as i don,t
think you can get more than ten on it. So i will keep this place for pleasure
sessions, which i must promise myself i will do more often this year.

ROUNDTOWN NEWS CUP.

This weeks match was the second round of the sponsored ROUNDTOWN NEWS CHALLENGE CUP.
It was held on the Rio Segura at the Eden Canal Stretch. The weather on the previous
night had been most foul, and all the anglers were anticipating a grim, and wet day.
However, fortune favours the brave, and 22 anglers who turned up, enjoyed a day in
the sun, and with the river fishing the best it has for some weeks.(its a strange old game).

The match as with the previous one, was decided on points with 4 sections of 6 anglers.
(2 no shows meant that several sections only had five anglers, and they were both in
my team!!!).

Section 1-6 Pete (i don't swear) Kerr fishing the pole using bread punch
with 4.380 kilo's.
Section 7-12 Harold (H) Clarke fishing the pole using corn for 10.780 kilo's.
Section 13-18 John (AKA Johnny M) Marsh fishing the feeder, and pole using maggot
with 3.720 kilo's.
Section 19-24 Pete (The Peg) Hampshire fishing the pole using maggot with 3.420 kilo's.

Please be aware that some Anglers just lately have been approached by persons from a

Country far to the East from here, and have asked for the Fish that have been caught.
The Fish were offered up, and the people were very pleasant. BUT be aware if they
are refused, things have happened in the past, which have got nasty.Always if you can,
Fish with a friend, and if you do not use a keepnet, then there are no fish.

PERMALI'S FOURTH ROUND WINTERS LEAGUE.

The day started off very frosty, outside my own house it did'nt seem to bad. But as i started
to drive towards the countryside, it was a lot harder. Four consecutive days, how lovely.
At least it as been warm during the day with plenty of sunshine. Now as the form book as been going
pegs 6,7,8 are the out,and out fliers.So you can guess what everybody wanted.

Barry had the honour of drawing Dickies peg today, even though Dickie begged me to draw it.
Sorry but the answer i gave Dickie is unprintable.So at a guess you can tell i said NO!.
Barry preceded to draw Dickie peg 13. Dickie was not so happy this time as only 3-12-8 came off
it last week. Barry who looked almost suicidal drew for himself next, praying peg 2 would'nt stick
to is hand,like the last two matches.Praying for a flier, he drew one peg away,and drew peg 5,
not brilliant,but a marked improvement from the last couple of draws. With 5-8-0 coming from
this peg last time. Dickie called the name Steve to the draw bag, i know he meant me as
i paid my money before any of the other Steve's turned up
(Dickie remember that there's three Steve's who fish this series).
Any way Steve Bee jumped the queue, and ended drawing peg 2, too everyone's
delight. The look on his face was a picture, teach you for nicking my spot on the draw.
So i consoled myself by drawing next, (please give me a flier),in went my hand,and out popped
peg 4 again.I cannot believe whats going on, there's a conspiracy happening here,
and i will get to the bottom of it. Or it could just be sour grapes. At least i know this swim quite
well. Brian Dix who as only fished the far bank in all the previous matches, drew the road side
for the very first time, can't believe he went, and drew peg 7, can't understand why he had a
happy expression on his face?. Jason who as had a few crap draws earlier in the series, popped
his hand in the bag, and drew peg 6, another flier bites the dust. But fair play Jason you
deserved a decent draw, just like i do?.(next match maybe).
Andy the series leader drew peg 12,
But fair play he did,nt moan,he just got on with the job at hand. Even though there was a blank
off this peg last week.Steve Evans drew peg 10, as this had a blank off it last week, he was'nt
to encouraged about it.The other flier peg 8 went to Nick Willis, who has'nt had a fair share of
draws either. So this cheered him up.Terry who seems to live on pegs 8,and 9, drew peg 9 again,
but saying that, he did not fair off this peg last match, only managing 8-2-0. So this peg
seems, an up,and down affair. Tommy who's doing quite well in the series drew peg 3, which has
only had ounces of it the last two matches, not another happy chappy.
Richard who as not had a very successful series so far drew peg 11, last match this peg blanked,
OH! dear.

THE MATCH.

What an absolute change around in this match, the pegs that have struggled throughout the series
decided to come to life.The water was slightly more couloured than previously, but i could still
see the bottom of my keepnet. Poor old Barry could not believe that pegs 2,and 3 came to life,
after the bad times he's been having off them. I have come to the conclusion that it is bad drawing
next to Barry, thats three matches i have drawn next to him now, and it ain't been good, for some
reason the fish just don't follow him. I fished this peg i'am on now last match and had 71 fish for
7-15-0, mostly roach, so i thought i would try the same tactics as last match. Fish the feeder for
an hour, then come in on the pole if nothing shows.On the whistle i fed two cups of finely
chopped worms, with a few maggots on the pole line at 12.5 metres.The good thing about drawing
the same peg is i used the same rigs as before, so the plumbing up was easy.Same spot just over
the ledge, fair play these roach never stood a chance, or so i thought. Fished the feeder, and after
three casts, and twenty minutes, the tip of my rod started moving, i nearly fell off my box,
because i was'nt expecting it. I lifted into a skimmer, and landed it. It was about 5 ounces.
Still in a state of shock, i reloaded the feeder, cast out, and waited. Five minutes later,
and the second one was in the net, about the same size as the first.Two skimmers in the first
half hour yipee!.The following half hour saw me put two more skimmers in the net, with the biggest
going about 1lb-4ounces, things were looking up.Then the wind decided to pick up, straight into
myself, and Barry's face.It was a cold nasty wind. Sun was shining, my back was warm, and my front
was cold, can only happen in Britain!. Thirty minutes without a bite, i decided to try the pole line,
and bag up on the roach.WRONG!.Never had a touch on the pole all day,
Where's the bleeding roach gone.
Sat on the pole for half an hour not a touch, not even a sign. Went back on the feeder nothing, zilch.
For two hours i was chopping, and changing between the feeder, and the pole.So i decided it
was time to stay on the feeder, and hope. Begining of the last hour the tip went round,
and a skimmer of a couple of ounces was in the net. Five more skimmers came to the net up until
the whistle.
Barry on the next peg was nearly in tears, he struggled all day, is peg was more
exposed than mine, not much but enough to make him walk around to warm up a bit.
Brian on peg 7, said he never had a bite for the first two hours, then it was just a plod
from there. Jason on peg 6, was having a whale of a time, catching consistantly to win the
section. Pegs 2, and 3, the suicide pegs, came good, the fish actaully moving in to the
shallows. Steve Bee finishing second in the section, with double figures, Tommy on peg 3,
just breaking the double figure mark. Barry still can't believe it. In hine sight Steve
Bee jumping the queue at the draw, worked for him. Jammy so, and so.
Top two pegs, and the bottom two pegs caught reasonably well, leaving me,
and Barry in the middle with next to nothing. Please Barry don't draw next to me again, thanks.
This has nothing to do with my angling abilities, so its your fault Barry.

Secion B fished well, with everybody catching, (still ain't drawn that bloody side yet).
I'am the only Angler left in the series that as not drawn both banks, see told
you there was a bloody conspiracy going on.
Jesus i'm writing this blog, so i should have the good pegs.
I think i'am going to take up fiction writing, then i would be the hero,
as this fact writing is getting depressing. But i will soldier on!.

Andy the series leader powered is way to another fine section win, off unfancied peg 12, Winning
is section with 19-14-0. Well done Andy. (broke my heart saying that).
Steve Evans coming second just behind Andy. Two good days fishing for you Steve, well done mate.
Steve won is section yesterday in a supercup match, at packington sommers.
Picked some coin up this weekend, fair play to you. Third went to Dickie, well done Dickie
see people are still drawing you good pegs. Peg 8 the flier on this bank weighed in to finish last.
Just goes to prove, whats destined is destined. You watch i will draw a flier next round,
and there will be twenty comorants sat on the end of my pole.
Nothing to do with bad angling of course.

Well done Rich you've put some fish on the bank at last,
can only go up now. Next match in two weeks should be the start
of good fishing all over the lake.Surly by then there won't be any
more frosts.We will have to wait,and see.

Gloucester Angling Centre's Winter league round 8.

The final round of there winter league was held last Sunday.
With Dale Malpas 1 point in front of Tony Davis, and Mark Brear.
It's going down to the wire.

9 Anglers turned up for the final round, leaving 3 anglers per section.

This obviously making Dale's task easier. Again why do anglers sign up
for these leagues, and then spoil it by not turning up. Okay they had
no chance of winning the series, but there was still money on the day
up for grabs. All that they have achieved is the money for the series
payout will be cut, which is unfair on the frontrunners, who have fished
well throughout the series. Well next year Jerry you Know now who not
to invite.

by anyone's standards. This is what series are all about,
right down to the last match. Unlucky Tony, you done all you

one now God ain't I. If you give me a good draw on Sunday
God, i swear i will send my missus to church every Sunday for

RODS and REELS.

The match this week was an open, and held on the now famous 8 foot drain,
but it did'nt fish that well.The day although a bit windy , never caused to much
problem, and with the sun breaking through in the afternoon, it pushed the
temperatures into the low 20's.In saying that , there were some dry nets, and
there was also a good few of us that never broke the 1 kilo mark!!!.
In fact i drew next to my travelling partner Clive, and between us we only
managed a kilo of fish. Several anglers had a good day as shown from the results.

1st. Richard Kendall, fishing the pole using maggot with 7.02 kilo's.

2nd. Ian (from the darkside) Haughton, same method with 6.140 kilo's.

3rd. Alan (the quiet one) Ried, same method with 2.96 kilo's.

H.Clark found to his detriment the immediate depth of the drain while he was
pushing his keepnet out, the end section of his landing net pole, parted
company with the rest of the handle, and he watched it disappear into the murky depths.
So if anyone is lucky enough to retrieve it, you know who the owner is.
Good job he never caught any fish big enough to be landed.
