Dave Hoares Latest Results.

First of all, i would like to thank Andy for is comment. Its the first comment my blog as had.
Its good to have them,as they let me know if you want me to do something differently.
Andy said he enjoys reading my blog, but could i say more about  the venues,
methods, and baits.Thats good positive response which i'm looking for.
So thanks once again andy,i will try,and do what you have asked.

Obviously i can't give any advice on Dave's reports has he lives in Spain.
I just upload what he sends me.
So here's Daves match reports. With some unusual tiger pics.

MAGGOTS END.

RODS and REELS.

The match this week was the 8th in the Winter Championship series.
( A series of 11 matches with the best 8 results to count. )
It was held on the Rio Segura at the Eden canal stretch.
Although pleasure fishing this stretch is normally quite rewarding on match days
you do have to work really hard for fish, especially in the winter period.
Even more so on this day as the wind blew hard for most of the day
making pole fishing a nightmare.

Jim ( The Chairman ) was on top form on the day as he drew a “flyer”
and had left his pole at home. He managed to borrow one from a friend,
however it was not long enough to fish where he wanted and must be left to rue
the day of not checking his gear.

Top rods on a windy day.

1st Lenny ( Ex Cultural Attache ) Bolton
fishing the pole using maggot with 9.59 kilo´s.

2nd Ian ( From the Darkside ) Haughton
same method with 5.94 kilo´s.

3rd Paul ( Poco Loco ) Baxter
fishing the pole using sweetcorn with 5.38 kilo´s.

ANGLERS TOGETHER.

IMPORTANT: NEW VENUE AT CAMPOVERDE!

The Friday Campoverde meetings will now be held at Mary’s Bar/ Restaurant.

Taking CV925 going inland from Pilar de la Horadada turn right at the first
roundabout into Pinar del Campoverde, then first left and following the slip road,
up (past Fibber McGees and Lounge Bar 6) until you get to the next parade of shops.
Mary’s Bar is 3RD or 4th unit up.

The next meeting is on Friday February 5th at 12 o’clock.

The Puerto de Mazarron meetings remain at Los Galayos Bar/Restaurant on
the Paseo alongside the beach. Next meeting is
Saturday 6th February at 12 o’clock.

Fisheries report: work continues on the River Segura in Murcia City but
is still fishable in areas away from where the work is being carried out.
Embalse de Pedrera water levels are still rising and access past the broken
bridge at present is inaccessable as more water is being pumped in.

At Benijofar, bank clearance is being carried out on some stretches.
Sweet Water: both roads at the side of the river are now being cleared
of all the mud that had been dug out, leaving to the bank side, however,
the banks are at quite a steep angle so a ledge will be needed to be cut
out for placement of a tackle box.

Anglers Together continues to grow as a club with firm friendships being formed
over the last 3 years. Many members fish together regularly and report they
are pleased they have taken up a sport they once followed in their youth.
We have the occasional organized outing but the main aim is to introduce members
to find fishing companions and to assist in finding the venues.

The joining fee is €10 for new members and €5 for renewing members.
If you are interested in joining or finding out more about Anglers Together,
then either come along to one of the meetings or contact Dave.
(Alan is away on his annual trek to Oz).

PERMALI'S WINTER LEAGUE. (round 1).

First thing i would like to say is thanks to Steve Evans for explaining to me how
to set up the feeder without it tangling. It worked a treat, never had one tangle.
Cheers mate.

Draw was changed to 9.30am.
Fished 10.30am to 3.30pm.

At the draw i drew peg 5, Road side section A. Charming ain't it, dug the pegs
out the week before, and ended up on the other side. Out of the six of us who dug
the pegs, only two drew on them. Ain't no justice in this world. Except for
Jason, and Brian who were the two to draw there.

In A section pegs 6 and 7 was the pegs you wanted to be.
In B section peg 14 was the favoured peg. Richard probably had the worst draw in section A.
As is Did Not Weigh would confirm. He drew peg 1.
Adrian drew peg 14 (Mr, i draw the fliers) With a big grin on is face he was off to is peg.
Andy drew peg 7,as peg 6 was vacant (charlie chang never turned up) Andy was laughting.
He's a good Angler, as is winning weight proved. (Good angler, good peg, no contest).
I did,nt fair to well, weighing in a measly 8lb for fourth in the section.
But can,t complain, at least we are back fishing after that bad weather we've had.
Enjoyed the day, with everybody catching. Section B, far bank, as expected had
the majority of the weights. Steve Evans won Section B, Jason coming a close second.
13ozs seperated 1st, and third. That honour fell to Brian Dix.
Adrian (Mr flier) on peg 14, came fifth in is section. (oh! well there is some justice
in this world after all). Most of my fish came to the feeder, with a few roach on the pole.

Only one idiot fell over today that i know of, Slid down the bank on his arse.
Guess what, i saw it this time, it was bloody me. Got up quicker than i went down,
so i'm pretty sure no one saw it. Andy, and Steve won £50 each, so thats there series,
and match paid for, well done lads. Dickie ,and Jason picked up £35 each, so at least
four of them went home happy.

135lb-8oz of silvers were caught today, not bad for this time of year.

Sun setting,so on my way home.

Well done to Steve Evans for winning is section, after the
last month he's had, with 4 blanks out of 5.
Got it right this time buddy. You can now put the cianide tablet away,
well for now anyway.
Brian Dix has said to me, i don't mention him much in my blog, so
i hope this makes him happy. BRIAN DIX, BRIAN DIX,
BRIAN DIX, BRIAN DIX, BRIAN DIX, BRIAN DIX.
Got to be happy with that Bri.
On a more serious note, thanks a lot for that stuff you gave me Bri,
much appreciated mate, cheers. If i ever see you in the pub, i will buy you
half a coke. Which since they've banned smoking in pubs, that is very unlikely.

Gloucester Angling Centre had there fifth round of there winter league today,
i will have to pop round, and see Jerry, so i can get the results off him.
They fished the mill pond at painswick. That place is dire in the summer, so if
any of the anglers have hanged themselves after the match, i will let you know
when i get the results. Thanks for reading this, and bye for now STEVE.
