Tirley court.

Well it turned out a better match,than we thought.With the weather and all. 9 anglers turned up to fish today.
So it was'nt to bad. Well lets get on with the match.

I drew peg 12, which was an end peg.  I had an over hanging tree to my left,at about 3 metres.
so i set up 2 tops one for the inside under the tree, and the other at 3 metres in front of me.
The whistle went at 10.00am for the all in.I fed both swims with sweetcorn by hand.
Started catching small carp from the off,in the swim in front of me. After an hour the carp started getting bigger. they were averaging between 12 oz, and 1 and a half pound. Jason onthe next peg was bagging big time. This is how it went for me for most of the match. Went down by the tree for the last couple of hours. Started catching straight away,and from then until the end of the match i was catching steady, with a few bigger carp showing. Biggest i had was about 6 pound. The all out came to quickly at 4.00pm

Total weight between the anglers was 942lb. not a bad days fishing.

In fairness to trevor he really had a bad day. lost a section to is pole in the water. So he put is waders on to go in ,and slipped down the bank,and went in up to is waist. Not only did he lose is pole section,he also knackered is mobile,which was in is side pocket.Thats the reason he did not weigh in.Did we all feel sorry for him. Well after about half an hour of rolling around with laughter. yeah we felt sorry for him.

Summary.

Apart from trevor every body had a good day. Again a lot of baracking,and swearing.  i won £15.
paid for the match i suppose.but for me its not about the money,its about the crack.

Cant wait until tomorrow now. I'am about to set up some rigs for the match. Later i will soak some 4mm pellets ,for an hour,bag them,and stick them in the fridge overnight. Also pump some 6mm expanders,and again stick them in the fridge overnight. I have sweetcorn,and 8mm boiles,as back up.
They don't like you using luncheon meat for some reason. So i will take some cat food with me,as i have'nt heard them say anything about it. I will ask when i get there.
Even though the weather as not been at its best this week, i should still think you will need 100lb+ to win. So hopefully it will be fun.As i said before i  will let you know the results tomorrow evening.

Tirley court. (petes lake).

I have fished this lake a few times,over the last couple of years. It can be a real bagging lake. You hear match result, with weights in excess of 300lb+. But i  believe these weights only come to floating baits, mainly dog biscuits. But all the matches i have fished here recently,ban floating baits.Witch i personaly think is a good thing.
The last match i fished here i weighed in 141lb for second all caught on the pellet. The winner weighed in 202lb.. Another match i fished hear i won with 127lb. So believe me your results on this lake can change from week to week. Another example of a match i fished here was crazy. I weighed in 106lb,and finished last in my section of five. Great days fishing thou. Saying all this, i have fished this place in the winter,and you would think this lake had a serious lack of fish. We all know what the cold can do to carp.
So how will i do saturday. Dunno as the nights have been quite cold these last couple of nights.
So i will let you know after the match.
I will take some pics of the lake,and hopefully of people catching. Give the rsults of the top 5 anglers,where i finished, and wright about how the match went for me.

draw 9.00am.
fished 10.00am til 4.00pm.
conditions were not favourable, raining,cloudy and cold. did'nt have a bite for about 3 hours.
Then 1 small skimmer,and 1  small carp made an appearance.Then for the last hour and a quater,had 9 carp,and 1 skimmer. Weighed in 37lb. Winner dale malpass was next peg to my right,and caught steady all through the match,to weigh in 58lb.   14 fished.  Most of my fish came to  catmeat. As usual there was a lot of good natured banter. Trevor dix on the next peg to my left,must of had a curry last night, because the top of is seat was vibrating alot,(plus load noises).  It was hard fishing. but all in all, we had a good day.

1. As you can see from the weights,are scales only do the pound,and the 8 ounces,as they are as old as the hills.Dick the organizer is about the same age.
2.I will only normally put the top 5 weights. But as i came 6th, i thought i might as well throw this one in to.
3.I will only put in the baits that worked for me on the day. (pssst,the winner used luncheon meat)
