RODS AND REELS.

The match this week was the 5th in the winter Championship, this is a series of 11 matches with the best 8 to count.It was held on the Rio Segura at Murcia, and with an unprecedented turnout of anglers, 27 fished,and the match stretch was from the bottom of the ramp up to opposite the hospital.Although the river has been fishing well, it was a struggle for all,on the day. This could have been attributed to the fact that the river was some 9 inches to a foot lower than normal, giving anglers only a couple of feet of water.Clive who came 2nd had a long walk to fish a swim not normally pegged. He said that he struggled for most of the match,but in the last couple of hours the fish started feeding, and he lost some really big fish. Something not experienced by the rest of us.

Top rods on the day.

1st. Austin (cambridge) Veith. fishing the feeder using corn with 7.300 kilo's.

2nd. Clive (golf no more) Cleghorn. fishing the pole using corn with 7.000 kilo's.

3rd. Dave (yours truly) Hoare.fishing the pole using maggot with 6.800 kilo's.


ANGLERS TOGETHER.

Anglers together continues to grow as a club with firm friendships being formed over the last 2/3 years.
Many members fish regulary, and report they are pleased pleased to rejoin a sport they had followed as a youth.We have the occasional organised outing, but the aim is mainly to introduce members to find fishing companions.Our next outing will take place on November 30th, which will be a fur and feather event-including mince pies.

Anglers Together is not a match club.

The joining fee is 10 euro for the new members, and 5 euro for renewing members.If you are interseted in
joining,or finding out more about Anglers Together, then either come along to one of the meetings, or contact
Alan below.

Next Meetings-Friday 4th Decemberat Lounge bar 6, Pinar del Campoverde (near Pilar de la Horadada, and on saturday 5th december at Los Galayos Bar, opposite the seafront at Puerto de Mazarron. Both meetings start at 12 o'clock. New members always welcome.

Alan can obtain Fishing Licences for the regions of Valencia, and Murcia. Note: Insurance (Seguro de Pesca) must be obtained before applying for a Murican region licence.
