MATCH REPORT SUNDAY.

22nd November.  Drummonds Dubb.

Eight anglers turned up, three of them were guests (good job for guests eh!).
I'am afraid there will not be any photo's, today on this match, because some idiot decided to drop is camera in a deep puddle,as he got out of the van. Will the guilty please raise you hand?.

Okay i have put my hand down now, so i can write the report, so here goes.

Draw was at 8-45am. Please God give me an high number, "i drew peg 2". We left out permanent pegs 1, and 2, as they are too shallow. So we moved them up a bit. (one day i will draw the deeps). Adrian Davis drew peg 5, as he's done well on this peg before, he was happy. Bian Dix drew end peg 8 , and Nick Willis (guest) drew peg 7, both in the deeps, they where very happy. Me, and Terry Raybold (guest) peg 1,drew the wrong end, and we where not to chuffed. The rest where reasonably happy with there's.
The all in went at 9-45am. Out went the feeder with chopped worm, and red maggot on the hook. Re-cast several times to get some bait out there. Waited half an hour for my first fish, a skimmer  about 4 oz's. The hook got caught in the landing net. Now as i use barbed hooks for silvers (where aloud) it was a problem getting it out, without damaging it. No such luck it bent out of shape, so i had to change my hook length.
My match went pretty steady with a few skimmers, before the small roach decided to put in an appearence. Lightening bites resulted in a lot of missed bites, maggots chewed to bits (hair pulling job, or what). Came in on the pole line, and tried it for half an hour, to give the feeder line a rest, and hopefully the small roach would p--s off by the time i went back out there. Half hour, and 4 small roach later, i decided to throw the pole up the bank, and go back out on the feeder. First put in i had a skimmer  for about a pound, cheered me up a bit.
Next put in a roach, bit bigger than the eye's i was catching earlier. Decided to put a bigger hook on , with a new hook length, size 16's. Put three red maggot,s on, hoping for bigger fish. It worked to an extent, that the roach where a littlt bigger, with the odd  decent skimmer thrown in. Alas my fishing skills are limited, so i stuck with this, to the end of the match. The all out went at 3-45pm. I had 43 fish for 14-6-0. Beat both anglers either side of me, so was happy with that. Adrian Davis ain't to happy with peg  5 anymore. The fancied deeps came good with 2nd, and 3rd. Fair play to dickie on peg 4, he beat the fancied pegs to win the match, well done dickie. It rained, and rained, the wind was blowing a gale, but besides soggy ciggies, and cold hands it was an enjoyable silvers match. To my camera R.I.P. Paid out top two, not sure what they won, as i finished out of the coin (again) so i did'nt  really care. I know sour grapes.
Got a spare camera so shall be alright for next week.
