Dave's kindly gave us this week's results from Spain. He came third so he had a good day, He says if he as time during the week, he will send some more photo's.

RODS and REELS

This week was the 4th match of the Winter Championship. This is a series of 11 matches with the best 8 to count. The match was held at the Embalse de Argos. The embalse which is now being filled as it was at the lowest we had seen it, appears to have an effect on the fishing. Whether it is cold water being used from the local rivers or being brought in from else where, but the fishing is a struggle. With 22 people fishing only 4 anglers broke the 10 kilo mark. Compared to a year ago the majority of anglers would have been in double figures. One strange point in individual swims was that if pellet caught, then maggot and corn didn´t, and if maggot caught, then other baits didn´t work. Why ?????. It is probably this unknowing that keeps bringing you back ,hoping that one day all will be revealed.

A local conservation firm is currently clearing a lot of trees and undergrowth from the area and next year it will make access and parking better AND we hope the fishing will improve.!!!!!!!


1st  Ian ( Irish Wizard ) Dalzell fishing the pole and feeder using pellet with 22.00 kilo´s.


2nd ( Joint ) Alan ( The Webman ) Reid and Pete ( I don´t swear ) Kerr Both fished the feeder with Alan using corn and Pete using maggot with 11.500 kilo´s.

3rd Dave ( Yours Truly ) Hoare fishing the pole and feeder using pellet with 10.75 kilo´s.

Anglers Together News

Anglers Together was formed to put anglers in touch with each other to share information on venues, tactics and most importantly to find fishing partners. We have over 80 members scattered across south Alicante region and in Murcia but you do not need to live in Spain to join. We have regular fishing day trips both sea and freshwater and also do guided trips around some of the more popular venues. All anglers are made welcome whether experienced or not and help is available to those who need it. Anglers Together is not a match-fishing club.

The joining fee is €10 for new members and €5 for renewing members. If you are interested in joining or finding out more about Anglers Together, then either come along to one of the meetings or contact Alan below.

Next Meetings – Friday 4th December at Lounge Bar 6, Pinar del Campoverde (near Pilar de la Horadada, and on Saturday 5th December at Los Galayos Bar, opposite the seafront at Puerto de Mazarron. Both meetings start at 12 o’clock. New members always welcome.

Christmas Fishing Outing will be held on Monday 30th November at Murcia. Any member who has not already booked a place should contact Alan by 14th Nov.

The first prize of a Gift Voucher for tackle has been kindly donated by Glen Wilson of Mas y Menos in Campoverde. There will be lots of other prizes to win at this friendly match. All participating members must hold a current Murcian Licence and Insurance.

Alan can obtain Fishing Licences for the regions of Valencia and Murcia. Note: Insurance is required before obtaining a Murcian region licence.
